The Big Bang Denial

The trajectory of a billiard ball is fixed and totally predictable the moment the ball is struck. With the known position of all objects in its path, the exact times and points of contact and the subsequent transfer of momentum (changes of ricochet directions and speeds) can all be calculated, in advance.

Similarly, by extrapolating backwards, we can tell where the billiard ball was originally, and the magnitude and angle of the force that was applied. From the observation that stars are further and further apart year after year, we can deduce that the universe is expanding.

At the cellular level, we observe mutations and changes in living creatures. In the same manner, these mutations could be extrapolated backward, to the first cell. Scientists have also solved the mystery of why we do what we do. The reaction of inanimate chemicals in the billions of cells in our body collectively decide and contribute to how we grow, move and act.

The Big Bang and evolution are both manifestations of one and the same.

If the universe is expanding, what is it expanding from? Current theory points to a singularity at the beginning of time, from where nothing came everything in a Big Bang. It just happened, as most scientists believe, based on the evidence from some very complex mathematics. Fair enough.

The Big Bang theory can be true if a number of assumptions hold true. Time as we know today has to be the same throughout the billions of years in question. F = ma has to be unchanged also.

Scientists pride themselves in believing in the evidence they see, and in strict causality.

If the Big Bang is true, then what follows consequentially starting from the Big Bang must also be true. For the theory of evolution to hold, there has to be a continuous cause-and-effect chain reaction from the moment of the Big Bang to the first cell, then to tadpoles and eventually to you.

The implication of this is that Richard Dawkins isn't loud-mouthed and vulgar because he chooses to be so. Every word he says, ever sneer, and every twitch of his facial muscles, were all already decided at the beginning of time, at the moment of the Big Bang! The first kick of the Big Bang decided the fate and every action of every object, dead or living, in the universe, whether you like it or not. Life is just a robotic sequence of deterministic steps, cast at the moment of the Big Bang.

The opening sentence at the top of this page therefore has to be amended to: The trajectory of a billiard ball is fixed and totally predictable from the moment of the Big Bang.

Yet, all scientists refuse to believe that they are mere automatons. They live their lives as though they are making an impact on the well-being of others.

It is amusing to see scientists liking the idea of the Big Bang, but at the same time in flat denial of the consequences of the Big Bang. They refused to accept that they have no will, free or otherwise, and that their life is fated from beginning to end. Scientists do not accept that every man is not responsible for his actions, of any crime committed or every good deed done. This contradictory behavior is adequately explained in the Bible: for they knew God.

Next time when somebody says, "we have things under control", you can smile at the big lie.

Well, a few scientists are beginning to wise up to the inevitable truth that, if evolution from the first cell is true, then, human life is a robotic sequence after all. Jerry Coyne, a militant atheist, pondered publicly:

If science does in fact confirm that we lack free will, what are the implications for our notions of blame, punishment, reward, and moral responsibility? - Jerry Coyne

I wonder if he realized that if what he thought was correct, then it wasn't him asking the question.

You may argue that there is white noise in the system, so there is some uncertainty in how things will turn out or how cells may mutate. Well, randomness does not a free will maketh. Being out of control certainly means you are unable to make choices voluntarily.

Christians, on the other hand, believe in the Bible is true. One of the biblical truths is a Creator who gave us life, a life endowed with free will. The Creator knows the outcome of everything, from before the beginning of time. We do not. The Creator is in a different realm from us.
